Dan O'Connell, B.S. - Doctoral student, BBS
Joint with Richard Maas, M.D./Ph.D., Professor of Medicine at HMS and Chief of Division of Genetis at BWH. Dan is interested in organogenesis, with the tooth as a model system. He is learning bioinformatics methods in this laboratory for analyzing his data.
Peter J. Park, Ph.D. - Principal Investigator
Peter studied applied mathematics at Harvard and Caltech. His doctoral thesis in 1999 was on numerical analysis of partial
differential equations with Prof. Thomas Hou. Seeking a more interactive
and rapidly evolving field, he did his postdoctoral fellowship in
the Biostatistics Department at the Harvard School of Public Health,
where he was introduced to molecular biology and genomics. He then
moved to Children's Hospital Boston in 2001 as an instructor at the Medical School and has been there since, becoming an assistant professor in 2006. In addition to research, he teaches a statistics
course at the School of Public Health and serves as a guest lecturer in a number of courses. He is Associate Director of Bioinformatics at the Harvard-Partners Center for Genetics and Genomics and a member of the Affiliated Faculty at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. He is also a member of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Center Center and a member of the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) faculty, an interdepartmental PhD program at Harvard Medical School.
He frequently serves as a referee for journals, including Science, PNAS, Bioinformatics, Nucleic Acids Research, Genome Biology, PLoS Computational Biology, PLoS Biology, PLoS Medicine, BMC Bioinformatics, BMC Genomics, BMC Biology, Genomics, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Biometrics, Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, BioTechniques, Pacific Symposium for Biocomputing, Statistics in Medicine, Lifetime Data Analysis, Physiological Genomics, FEBS Letters, Expert Review of Molecular Diagnostics, In Silico Biology, International Journal of Cancer, American Medical Informatics Association Symposium.
Shouyong Peng, Ph.D. - Postdoctoral Fellow
Shouyong finishd his physics PhD at Boston University in 2005.
He is currently a joint postdoctoral fellow with the Kuroda Laboratory. His research is on ChIP-chip data analysis and a network
description of biological systems.
Michael Tolstorukov, Ph.D. - Postdoctoral Fellow
Prior to joining the lab in 2007, Michael received his Ph.D. and was a faculty member at V. Karazin Kharkov National University, Kharkov, Ukraine. He is an expert in the biophysics of nucleosome positioning.
Julie Yoo, B.S. - MS/MBA Student
She has a degree in computer science and engineering (with a minor in biology) from MIT and is currently in the Biomedical Enterprise Program at the Sloan School/HST.
